Sarah gave a talk (and danced!) on “Tango and the Art of Connection: Partnerships Build Communities” at a TEDx event in Beacon, NY in June 2013. TEDx is an independently organized TED event, and TEDxLongDock was themed around the impact of arts, culture, the creative class, and entrepreneurship in the Hudson Valley.
I talk about what tango has taught me about creating apowerful partnership, how great partnerships cross-pollinate to create thriving communities, and the growing value of social capital in our changing world. And then I dance.
The Traveling Cup:
Mark Guay was in the audience of the TEDx event where I gave a talk, and asked to interview me for his podcast The Traveling Cup: CoffeeConversations on Purpose. I was his first, yep, Episode 1. He has gone on to interview the likes of Seth Godin,Chris Brogan, Pat Flynn, and more. I talk about why I decided to quit my corporate career to become a tango gypsy and redefining work and success.

O Positive Festival – O+:
O+ is an art and music festival that began in my home town of Kingston, NY in 2009. “Bartering the art of medicine for the medicine of art”, for one weekend, artists and musicians connect with healthcare providers to receive free healthcare and share their work with the whole community. I gave a Tangolia workshop in the 2014 festival and was interviewed here by Rob Galgano.
I was interviewed for Kingston’s “Doers and Dreamers” series in 2014, and I talk about my other work: CFO consulting. I also have a business called EssJay Consulting where I am an outside CFO to businesses who need support in financial forecasting, strategy, and analysis.
